Climate Change

Climate change refers to long-term alterations in temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other elements of the Earth’s climate system. Primarily driven by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil, and natural gas), climate change results in the increased concentration of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere. This leads to global warming, which manifests as rising average temperatures, melting ice caps, sea-level rise, and more frequent and severe weather events, such as hurricanes, droughts, and floods. Climate change has broad effects on ecological systems, human health, agriculture, and water resources, posing significant challenges for future sustainability and societal resilience.
